 Some 100 attendees from across Alabama discussed the importance of placing emphasis on a city’s downtown. According to workshop leaders\, downtown development benefits local citizens and visitors alike.</p>
 <p>“Your downtown is a reflection of what other people think of you\,” said guest speaker Bob Wilson\, executive director of Mississippi Main Street Association.</p>

DESCRIPTION:<p>The Black Heritage Council of the Alabama Historical Commission invites the public to attend a historic preservation forum in the town of York\, Saturday\, September 25.<br />
 The Forum will be held at 10\:00 am at the Hightower Center\, 615 2nd Avenue in downtown York. The Forum is free and everyone is encouraged to attend! </p>
 <p>Please join the Black Heritage Council and York community leaders to discuss strategies for preserving the town’s historic resources for community and economic development. Information on tourism\, tax incentives for historic buildings and heir property will be presented.</p>
