 Gordo\, Alabama<br />
 The Gordo Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Muleday/Chickenfest festival the first week-end in June. The festival begins Friday afternoon and lasts until Saturday night. Muleday was the original idea of the late Cecil Robertson. Chickenfest began in the early 1990's and was held in October. The Chamber sponsored Chickenfest annually to promote the chicken industry\, Pickens County's top agricultural industry. Peco Farm's Hatchery and feed mill are located in Gordo. The events were combined around 1999.</p>
